TENNIS TEAMS FALL AT NORTH
FLORIDA
The Bruins Host ETSU on Friday
Jacksonville, Fla. – The Belmont tennis teams
ended their visit to Jacksonville with losses to North Florida. The women
fell 6-1, while the men lost 7-0.
On the women’s side, UNF captured the first point of the match
as they won at the #2 and #3 positions. The Bruins did win at #1 as Linda
Johansson and Tatiana Pozo defeated Carolina Melo and Natalia Sanchez
9-5. In singles, the Lady Ospreys won five of the six matches to clinch
the victory. BU’s Whitnie Warren had BU’s lone win at #3 as
she defeated Ina Durcakova when Durcakova retired in the second set.
On the men’s side, the Ospreys won at all three doubles and all
six singles matches to clinch the team victory.
Both Belmont teams are back in action this Friday as they host ETSU at
2:00pm.
