Mandee Luers enters her second year in the Belmont dugout in 2009. Her main responsibilities include assisting with pitchers, recruiting and administrative duties while persuing a Master of Sport Administration degree at Belmont.
"She is more polished this season after having one year under her belt and will do a good job managing our pitching staff of two newcomers and two returners," Head Coach Amy Tudor said. "She will also take on a new role of coaching first base for this season."
Prior to her arrival at Belmont Luers was a pitcher for Marshall University. She finished her senior season with a 12-6 record after tossing over 130 innings for the Thundering Hurd. A native of Dover, Ohio, Luers recorded an ERA of 3.28 which was good for second-best on the team and eighth-best in Conference USA.
The four-time letterwinner finished her career with the Thundering Herd with a 21-9 record and 3.40 ERA. Luers graduated from Marshall in May of 2007 with a Bachelor's in Sports Management and Marketing.
