Jenifer Kernahan begins her third year with Belmont softball. As an assistant coach, her main responsibilities included working with the outfielders and catchers as well as assisting with recruiting, field maintenance and travel plans for the Bruins.
Kernahan came to Belmont after serving as the graduate assistant for the softball program at Heidelberg College. During her tenure with the program, she served as the team's academic coordinator as well as helped with recruiting, fundraising, and field maintenance.
A 2005 graduate of Bowling Green State University, Kernahan was a four-year letter winner on the Falcon softball team, including the 2004 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship squad. A two-sport athlete at BGSU, Kernahan was the starting goalkeeper for the Falcon soccer team for two seasons and helped them to a MAC Championship in 2004. She also displayed versatility on the softball diamond playing catcher, shortstop and outfield. Her success at the plate earned her MAC Player of the Week honors on two occasions.
