Kevin Yeager enters his 1st year as volunteer assistant coach of the Belmont men's track and field team, and brings a wealth of competitive experience in a variety of events both on the track and on the infield.

A native of Knoxville, Tenn., Yeager was a stand-out decathlete for the University of Tennessee, twice placing 6th (2002, 2004) in the SEC Conference Championships in that event. While at UT, he was fortunate to be coached by Bill Webb and train with 2003 World Champion, Tom Pappas, and Yeager garnered outdoor PRs of than-22'11¼" in the long jump, 6'6" in the high jump, and 6,897 points in the decathlon. During his senior season, he exteneded his long jump PR to 23'9" and placed 4th at SEC indoors with a score of 5309, which was 20th in the country.

Prior to attending UT, Yeager was an 11-time Tennessee state champion on the track for Farragut High School. He won three consecutive AAA decathlon titles (1998-2000), twice was 300m hurdles champion (1999, 2000), won the long jump in 1999, was twice winner of the triple jump (1998-2000), and led his team to three consecutive state team titles.
