NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Sophomore Brett Parker (Fairmont, W.Va.) was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team, it was announced on Thursday.

The accounting major was named to the University Division First Team in District Four after gaining a grade-point average of 3.49. On the field, Parker has played in all 16 games for Belmont this season and helped lead the team to an 8-6-2 record, which places them one win shy of tying the all-time record for wins in a season. Furthermore, Belmont has already qualified for the Atlantic Sun Tournament, which will take place from Nov. 12-15 in Buies Creek, N.C.

Parker has four goals and ten points on the season which places him third on the team in each category. He was named the A-Sun Player of the Week on Sept. 30 after he scored the game-winning goal in Belmont's 1-0 victory over Wofford at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex in Nashville, Tenn. on Sept. 26. He also had an assist in the Bruins' contest against Furman on Sept. 28 at the same location.

Parker was also named to the Hyatt Place Select-Brentwood Invitational All-Tournament team on Sept. 21. The event was hosted by Lipscomb University at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex in Nashville, Tenn. from Sept. 19-21. Parker scored one goal in Belmont's 3-2 loss to UNC Ashville on Sept. 19 and had the game-winning goal in the Bruins' 3-0 shutout of Presbyterian on Sept. 21.
