Tarr Named A-Sun Freshman of the Year

NASHVILLE, TENN. - Belmont freshman Brandon Tarr was named the 2009 Atlantic Sun's Freshman of the Year. He was honored by being selected onto the 2009 A-Sun's Second-Team All-Conference and All-Freshman Team. Tarr is the first Bruin to have been awarded Freshman of the Year. Read Full Release

Belmont's Season Ends With 3-1 Loss to ETSU

JOHNSON CITY, TENN. - In what was the final game of the Belmont (3-13-1) men's soccer team's 2009 season, the Bruins were defeated by ETSU (5-8-3) in Johnson City, Tenn. by a score of 3-1. Both teams learned of their post-season fate before kickoff, as the Bruins were eliminated by a loss to USC Upstate on Friday and ETSU clinched a spot in the Atlantic Sun Tournament with a win over Lipscomb. Late Goal Proves Costly as Bruins Fall to USC Upstate

SPARTANBURGH, S.C. - Belmont's (3-12-1) early goal proved not enough against a resilient USC Upstate (5-8-2) team as the Bruin's fell by a score of 2-1. Belmont took the early lead in the first half when Brandon Tarr (Knoxville, Tenn.) assisted Will Moorad (Brentwood, Tenn.) for the goal, but Belmont would give up two unanswered second half goals to give the Trojans a victory.
