NASHVILLE, TENN. - - Back by popular demand, Belmont University men's basketball will host its second annual `Meet The Bruins' night Thursday, Nov. 5 at 6pm CT in the Curb Event Center.

The event will serve as the first opportunity for the campus community and general public to see the 2009-10 Belmont Bruins in action. On the heels of a fifth postseason appearance in the last six seasons, this year's squad features eight promising newcomers including five true freshmen.

As was the case last year, head coach Rick Byrd will be mic'd up throughout the evening - lending his commentary and insight during the one-hour open scrimmage.

Following the scrimmage, players will be signing autographs courtside and fans can come down and shoot baskets with the team.

Expect plenty of highlights and above-the-rim action as the next chapter of Belmont Basketball begins!

Belmont opens its 2009-10 campaign against Portland State Nov. 13 as part of the Athletes in Action Classic hosted by the University of Washington.
