Five Bruins Headline Music City All-Star Classic
April 14, 2009
NASHVILLE, TENN. - - Five seniors from Belmont University's men's basketball team will participate in the second annual Music City All-Star Classic Saturday, April 18 at 6:00 pm CT at the Curb Event Center.
Alex Renfroe, an Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American and reigning Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Year, Shane Dansby, Matthew Dotson, Henry Harris and Andy Wicke will play one final game as teammates, on the same home floor on which they went 41-7 over their careers.
But beyond the opportunity to see Belmont's seniors in their home uniform one final time, the Music City All-Star Classic serves as a showcase event for Tennessee's vast college basketball talent.
Eight all-conference players and 10 players with NCAA Tournament experience will be on hand. Aside from Belmont, student-athletes from Austin Peay, Chattanooga, Cumberland, East Tennessee State, Lipscomb, Martin Methodist, Middle Tennessee State, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, and Trevecca Nazarene are scheduled to participate.
Former Bruins Justin Hare and Will Peeples played in last year's inaugural game.
The Music City All-Star Classic also includes a three-point shooting contest and slum dunk contest.
Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for students with proper identification. Tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster Doors open at 5:00 pm. The event is organized by former Bruin standout point guard Brian Collins. For more information, contact prosperidadmgt@gmail.com.
