The Curb Event Center is the centerpiece of the Belmont Athletics' program.

Opened in the fall of 2003 and funded by a $10 million donation from the Curb Family Foundation and well-known music executive Mike Curb, it serves as the home of BU's volleyball and basketball programs.

The Curb Event Center arena has 5,000 permanent seats in an oval configuration, and a permanent maple hardwood floor. It has three full-size basketball courts and eight suites.

In addition to the arena, the center also includes offices for the Athletics Department, locker rooms for the Belmont athletic teams along with visiting teams, athletic training facilities, and weight rooms and other facilities for the athletics program.

Beyond its athletic functions, the Curb Event Center is designed also to host major music and entertainment events - concerts, speakers, road shows, trade shows, and corporate events - and is wired to support live television broadcast from a dedicated TV control room and numerous permanent camera platforms.

The Curb Event Center also includes space for student-run retail businesses, and houses the Curb Café, a restaurant and entertainment venue for students and the community, and the Vince Gill Room, a penthouse meeting room offering outdoor rooftop dining.

Since its opening, the Curb Event Center has already hosted several special events; however none more noteworthy than the 2008 Presidential Town Hall Debate.

The facility hosted the Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Basketball Tournament in 2004 and 2005 as well as the A-Sun Volleyball Championship in 2005 and 2006. It also served as host for a portion of the 2004 U.S. Gymnastics Championships and the Vince Gill Celebrity Basketball Game and Concert.

Moreover, the CEC has been a proud host of the nationally-televised CMT Video Music Awards since 2006. The building has also been site of numerous concerts by acts such as Vince Gill, Amy Grant, MercyMe, Wynonna, and Heart, and served as a tour rehearsal venue for Keith Urban and Dolly Parton.

As it pertains to men's basketball, in five short seasons, the Curb Event Center has gained a reputation as being one of finest new facilities in college basketball.

From its clean sightlines and unsurpassed acoustics, the Curb Event Center fosters an atmosphere of excitement. And the Bruins have supplied plenty of excitement since Day One.

Since the 2003-04 season, Belmont is 51-14 (.785) at the CEC - including an 11-1 mark in 2007-08. Those 40 wins represent the most home court wins in the Atlantic Sun Conference over that span. Moreover, the Bruins are 39-8 (.830) in league games at the Curb Event Center.

The Bruins have averaged over 77 points per game in their 65 game history at the Curb Event Center.

Some of the most memorable moments in Belmont Basketball history have taken place at the Curb. From Andy Wicke's CEC record breaking 10-three-point night in victory over Gardner-Webb in 2007 to the Bruins' stirring come-from-behind victory over Lipscomb in 2008, the Curb Event Center continues to be the place to be.

Belmont has enjoyed a 23 percent increase in attendance the last three years - not only the largest attendance rise in the Atlantic Sun, but also the greatest percentage increase in attendance among all of Nashville area sports teams - college and professional. That momentum continues on campus throughout the entire BU program.
