The athletic department's academic center offers a quiet, monitored, study environment exclusively for student-athletes. Located within the athletic office inside the Curb Event Center, the academic center offers study tables, seven computers to
use for class assignments and free printing for academic related purposes only.

The following rules will apply to the Academic Center:

  • NO FOOD OR DRINK (Water is okay)
  • No cell phones.
  • You must have headphones if you're listening to something on the computer and IPods or other personal music devices should be kept quiet and only heard by the student-athlete listening (not everyone else in the AC).
  • Newspapers and magazines allowed only as needed for class.
  • Computers are to be used for academic purposes. E-mail time is limited to 20 minutes.
  • NOTE: No games, FaceBook or MySpace activity allowed.
  • Student-athletes must bring books and notes to the academic center and come prepared to study, to attend a tutorial session or to work on the computers. Student-athletes who are not prepared will be asked to leave and will not be allowed to return that day.
  • Student-athletes using the academic center to fulfill study hall requirements may not clock in and then leave to use the bathroom or to purchase food or drink. Athletes are expected to take care of these needs prior to arrival.
  • The academic center is for student-athletes only. Tutors are allowed to hold tutorial sessions with student-athletes in the academic center; however, group study sessions that include classmates who are not student-athletes should be scheduled in one of the library's study rooms (to ensure the center's availability to as many student-athletes as possible).
